Excellent location. 1/2 block from Syntagma Square/Parliament and the Greek Guards. 1 Block from HOHO Busses. 5 blocks to Temple of Zeus, Acropolis/Parthenon and The Plaka. 6 blocks to Monasteraki Square/Flea Market, Hadrian's Library, Ancient Agora and the Temple of Hephaestus. Hotel staff are great. The breakfast is fantastic. Plenty of different food to choose. I was a single traveler and although I asked for a double room they put me in a small single room 814. Bed was comfortable, bathroom very small and the shower was tiny. When I raised my hands to wash my hair my elbows hit the wall and glass door. The water pressure was great and was hot quickly. The hotel was quiet and yet on a busy street (Ermou Street). Plenty of restaurants around and Ermou Street itself is a walking street with no cars and hundreds of stores and restaurants. I would definitely stay again but I would demand a double bed room.

We had two 3-day stays within an 8-day trip (we left in the middle to spend a couple of days in Santorini). The hotel is in a superb location. It's close to the parliament building and the changing of the Greek Guards, close to shopping, and a nice walk from the market area. It's buzzing with activity and there are lots of eateries and shopping venues around. There were 7 of us: we had a double room for a family of 4 and a suite for a family of 3. Accommodation was good. The buffet breakfast was excellent. From the servers at breakfast to the men who helped us with our luggage to the front desk personnel, service was impeccable. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Athens!

Just to say that everything was excellent. The Reception/Reservation staff were excellent in dealing with any Q's and organising Taxis etc. Location could not be better, central for Shops, (Hotel is on the Main Shopping Street) Restaurants, Metro and the sites Main sites 20/30 or so minutes stroll (Remember that the Parthenon is on TOP of a large Hill (The Acropolis) Room Clean and Bright (Would suggest try to get an upper floor as further away from Street level) Breakfast more than adequate and view from your small terrace beautiful. Would highly recommend.

Good Hotel in the Center of Athens

The Electra Hotel is a very good hotel in the center of Athens with access to the pedestrian plaza of Ermou Street. It is a short and easy walk to the Syntagma Square, Plaka, Monastiraki Square, and the Acropolis. The rooftop bar and restaurant has an amazing view of the Acropolis. Like other reviews the rooms are very small, but we have experienced similar rooms in other European cities. The hotel staff is very professional. The facility is very clean and in a safe location. The free breakfast was very good. If we would ever return to Athens we would not hesitate to stay at the Electra.
